Hopetown Darlington is accessible from both junctions 57 and 58 on the A1(M).
Hopetown Darlington, previously known as Head of Steam and formerly known as the Darlington Railway Centre and Museum, is a railway museum located on the 1825 route of the Stockton and Darlington Railway, which was the world’s first steam-powered passenger railway.
Comic con attendees also get access to the LNER Railway Museum.

Where can I park at Hopetown Darlington?
Skerne Bridge Car Park is the new parking area for Hopetown Darlington and can accommodate over 200 cars. There are accessible spaces and electric vehicle charging stations, too.
The new car park is set below the iconic Grade I listed Skerne Bridge. There will be a viewing platform on the edge of the car park for you to capture the perfect selfie with the bridge as your backdrop.
